Gloria Stewart, Actress Gloria Stuart died at the age of 100. Reports say he died at his home in West Los Angeles, and his death was announced by his daughter, Sylvia Thompson. Stuart had been suffering from lung cancer for five years before his death. During his career he acted in films like “Poor Little Rich Girl, The Invisible Man, and Titanic.

Stuart began his career in the 1930′s as one of the actresses in Hollywood. Between 1932 and 1939, Stuart appeared in 42 films. During the prime of his career, Stuart appeared with actresses like Shirley Temple TempleShirley, Warner Baxter, and Dick Powell. She officially retired in 1946 after making only four films during the 1940′s.

Despite his retirement, Stuart appeared in 1997 James Cameron CameronJames adaptation of “Titanic,” where cast as Old Rose, a survivor of the disaster and the narrator of the film. Stuart was then nominated for an Academy Award, becoming the oldest person to be nominated, at the age of 87.

After his appearance new found fame, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000, the magazine andPeople of him as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
