Glenn Shadix, Glenn Shadix, died Tuesday morning at his home in Birmingham. He was 58.

Juliet Green staff told The Associated Press that he did not know the cause of death. The actor’s sister, Susan Gagne, told The Birmingham News Shadix had been using a wheelchair to move and seemed to have fallen in her kitchen and hit her head.

The actor’s website said a memorial will be held on Saturday in Birmingham.

Shadix is best remembered for his portrayal of a big, pretentious interior designer who dabbled in Voodoo in 1988 Tim Burton’s comedy “Beetlejuice.” He also was a voice actor in “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and appeared in dozens of television programs.

Before movies and television, Shadix worked in theater in Manhattan where he befriended the legendary playwright Tennessee Williams.
