Glen Coffee

Glen Coffee, Update: Coffee made the following statement:

“This was a difficult decision for me to do, but at this point in my life I think it’s better for me that I move in football. I appreciate what the 49′s, my teammates and coaches have done for me, and I wish a blessed season and all the best in the future ”

Coach Mike Singletary said coffee said, “since college my heart has not been there. In fact, I left early because my heart was not in it.”

Singletary said Comcast Sports Net “Glen told us this morning of its intention not to play the game of football. I respect that. I appreciate everything he has done for the 49ers.”

Singletary said the cafe was taking a “field of the fine” but that is not going to try to persuade him to change his mind.

Some very strange news out of the camp on Friday 49′s. Running back Glen Coffee, the 49ers third-round pick last year, has decided to retire. No, he did not suffer an injury in the final race. There really has been no news about why he retired. Just retired.

Only a year in his career, the 23-year-old decided to leave the NFL Café. It may not have had the best numbers, but why he resigned after a year?

Coffee gained 226 yards on 83 carries last season, 2.7 yards per carry. He also started two games for San Francisco running back Frank Gore when he was hurt.

The last time was in the camp of coffee, I was taking some serious heat corridor coach Tom Rathman. The coffee was great by linebacker Mike Balogun a burden. Rathman was not happy with the coffee.

It seems like a very visceral decision to retire after just one year. Be sure to keep up because it probably will not hear the last of this.
