Girl Scout Cookies, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois 2010 Girl Scout cookie sale was a huge success as 10,427 girls sold 1,094,052 boxes of delicious treats.

Troop 8055 and Madeline Burgess Valier was the Top Seller for the service unit 51. “I’m very proud of our girls and the excellent work they have done to make the cookie sale this year a huge success,” said Villie Appoo Agent GSSI CEO. “The annual report Girl Scout cookie sale is an excellent program that gives girls the opportunity to gain valuable skills, such as customer service, sales, money management and teamwork. “I want to thank our daughters, their parents and our wonderful volunteers for the 2010 Girl Scout cookie sale a huge success,” said Appoo. Girl Scouts Cookie Sale precedes support Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois:
• Recruit volunteers and train adults
• Provide financial assistance to Girl Scouting is available to all girls
• Improve and maintain camp properties
• Develop and deliver comprehensive program of activities for girls

Girl Scouts and cookies share a rich history. Although recipes and box designs have changed over the years, selling cookies remains an important part of today’s Girl Scout program.

The sale of cookies is directly related to the objective Scouts to “help all girls achieve their full potential and help them become strong, confident and resourceful citizens. All proceeds stay here in cookie GSSI. Many successful entrepreneurs say that today started out selling cookies scout. Scouting has inspired more than 50 million girls and women since its founding in 1912.
