George Zimmerman Donations, After spending weeks in silence, the U.S. neighbourhood watchman who killed an unarmed black teenager in what he claims was self-defence, has emerged to launch a website asking for donations.

George Zimmerman, who has not been arrested or charged in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, has not been publicly heard from since the February 26 shooting in Florida.

The website,, has been confirmed by Zimmerman’s lawyers to be authentic.

“He is operating this on his own,” Craig Sonner said. “I can confirm this is his site.”

Zimmerman does not offer his account of what happened the night of the shooting but calls it a “life altering event” in text on the website, set against the backdrop of an American flag.

“As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life,” Zimmerman writes.

“This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.”
