(Reuters) – Sacha Baron Cohen, British comedian who shone a light on the ugly middle America in “Borat” and the satire of the fashion industry in “Bruno” will now turn its attention to the plus side Light dictatorships.

Baron Cohen will star in “The Great Dictator,” which opens worldwide on May 11, 2012, distributor Paramount Pictures said in a statement Thursday.

“The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life so that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed,” the Viacom Inc. unit said.
