GCB TV Show, The Republican presidential candidate has criticised ABC’s new comedy drama series ‘GCB’, about housewives in the Bible Belt, as both bias and anti-Christian.

The show, starring Kristin Chenoweth, is based on the novel ‘Good Christian B******’ by Kim Gatlin but the title was changed to ‘GCB’ for television.

The catholic GOP candidate objected to the show describing it as an example of the ‘bias of elite media’, during a campaign stop at Gulfport High School, Mississippi.

Bigotry: Newt Gingrich described ABC’s latest show ‘GCB’, which stars Kristin Chenoweth, as ‘anti-Christian bigotry’

Gingrich told the audience, largely made up of teenage students, that no network would have run a show which used the same title but with ‘Muslim’ replacing ‘Christian’.

‘Look at the new show that’s on that has the word ‘Christian’ in it, and I want you to take the exact name, drop out Christian and put in ‘Muslim.’ And ask yourself is there any network that would have dared to run a show like that and you know the answer is not a one,’ said Gingrich.

‘Anti-Christian bigotry is just fine in the entertainment industry but they have to be very protective of Islam,’ the former House Speaker said.

Controversial: Based on the book ‘Good Christian B******’, ABC’s new show has come under fire from Christian groups

Unsurprisingly, the programme has also attracted criticism from conservative and Christian groups, as well as New York City Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. who demanded a change of title and an apology from the network.
