Gadhafi Son Saif CapturedGadhafi Son Saif Captured, Saif al-Islam, a son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has pledged to take revenge for the death of his father.

Gaddafi was killed on Thursday by the National Transitional Council fighters near his hometown of Sirte.

Al-Islam appeared on the Syria-based channel Alrai TV on Saturday night with a call to his followers, saying that he was alive and stay in Libya with the intention of fighting to the end against the rebels.

“We continue with the resistance. I’m in Libya, I am alive and free, and ready to fight to the end and take revenge,” the television loyal to the regime of Gaddafi was quoted as saying.

A website Gaddafi supporters issued a statement before Seif al-Islam had been named an heir to the Libyan dictator in command of the forces fighting the rebels.

Gaddafi, who ruled Libya for 42 years, was captured by the fighters of the National Transitional Council seven months after an international organization run by the Western alliance launched a military operation in Libya March 19.

There is still much controversy about the circumstances surrounding his death.

NTC officials say he was caught in crossfire between troops and anti-Gaddafi loyalists, but witnesses say was shot at close range by young rebels after being captured.

Gaddafi’s body is being kept in a cold store at a mall in Misrata, and hundreds of Libyans have been lining up to see it.
