Comics were quick to make jokes about the death of Colonel Gaddafi … but this is perhaps the first – from a short-lived sitcom called Second Chance 1987 – starring Friends actor Matthew future Perry as a man who dies, but sent back to Earth. French and Saunders have been credited with the inspiration of the new Star Wars franchise cash: a series of animated comedy starring Seth Green, Family Guy and Austin Powers fame. George Lucas apparently sanctioned the idea after having shown a sketch of the duo. Howard Roffman, president of Lucas Licensing, said the exhibition in London Brand Licensing Europe: “I remember that show French & Saunders parody George from The Phantom Menace with fear in my heart, but I do not think I’ve ever seen him laugh that hard!”
