Fox 8 News, For those who are still mourning the loss of Big Brother, Fox8 came with someone who could just fill a void in this part of a new “reality” show, dating in the Dark.
This entertaining show was a success in the United States and the United Kingdom and Australia now have the chance to go through often atrocious (for them – a pleasure for us) first dates. With a difference.
Dating in the Dark is a fun concept where three boys and three girls live in a house together and get to know each other through a series of dates and challenges to find their perfect match – completely in the dark. We get to watch the action through state of the art cameras night vision.
Once they have chosen the person they want to date, they are proving to light. From this point, it is up to each couple to decide whether to continue a day or do a runner. It is brutal, and it is soooo much fun to watch.
Dating in the Dark is hosted by former Miss France, Laura Dundovic, who is clearly enjoying his new role as TV presenter, one that seems to come naturally to her. Laura’s excitement about this show is obvious, she happily talks about strange and bizarre things that are in the series – including one eyeball licking incident.
Between his work in promoting businesses as Charlie Brown, Myer and beauty products and various DJ gigs in Melbourne – all with a broken ankle, Laura spoke with us on the phone last week.
Laura said she liked the shooting of eight weeks at Whale Beach – which is not. As many of us, she enjoys watching the other couple, find their way (literally) through their first dates.
“There are obvious differences in how things Aussies approach dating as” Laura said, comparing the local production to the American and British counterparts. “We are more forward and address these things differently.”
“I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs in relationships and I’ll be just as curious as anyone to see how it all turns on. I really think we can create long-term matches. ”
And it seems that Laura may have got his wish, as we are told that a couple are still together, engaged in a long distance relationship.
Throughout 2010, Foxtel – and especially Fox8 – gave us a lot of diversity, pleasure to benefit from new shows. We can not wait to see what 2011 brings.
