Ford F150

February 10, 2011 by staff

Ford F150, Ford Ferrari continues after the famous Italian Formula One team decided to call his 2011 F150 car. Ferrari said the car is named in honor of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification. But F150 is a model of the famous series trucks Ford pickup. Ford Motor Co. owns the brand continues Ferrari F150 and the Federal Court in Detroit. The lawsuit filed Wednesday Ford, seeking compensation for damages and unspecified brand, also refers to the creation of Ferrari site. Reports said Ferrari F150 logo, which can be accessed at the above address, is similar to the Ford F-150 logo. And 100,000 in damages are claimed under the Act on Consumer Protection Anticybersquatting relating to Internet domains that the public mind.

Ford said he is trying to prevent Ferrari from using the mark in the United States. “Ferrari has hijacked the F-150 brand … to enhance and capitalize on the substantial goodwill that Ford has developed,” Ford said in his trial.

As a Formula 1 fan I find this story interesting, but I must remember not to be biased in any way. However, what I can say is that from the time when Ferrari launched the F150 for the 2011 season, it was only a matter of time before Ford made an issue of it. We now have reports that the automotive company in Detroit went to the Ferrari F-150 brand, because it is the name on the world’s most popular trucks.

According to an article on Freep, Ford said that the Ferrari F150 is similar to that used on their truck, and they believe what they did and try to capitalize on that draw. It is not our words, but what is written in the trial that was published yesterday.

The Italian F1 team said they chose this name to celebrate the 150th anniversary of unification of Italy, we all know how the team is passionate about their country. Ford said that Ferrari wants to increase its market share in the U.S., and using the name of F150 could confuse consumers.

I do not want to take sides in any way, but consumers surly know the difference between a truck and a car that car can hit 200 mph over? Ford is asking the courts to stop Ferrari from using the name and looking for damages. The blue oval has not much time to try to get the ban passed, as the F1 season is due to start next month.

Speed TV Formula One website also says that Ford is not happy with the site If Ferrari is forced to close this site and change the name of his 2011 F1 challenger that could upset thousands if not millions of tifosi worldwide.
