Fold-out Sleeper Ottoman Welding Joints On The Legs Can Break, LTD Commodities has recalled about 2,650 of its Fold-Out Sleeper Ottomans, because the welding joints on the legs can break, posing a fall hazard to consumers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said today.
LTD Commodities has received four reports of ottoman legs that have broken, including two reports of minor injuries.
The recall involves fold-out sleeper ottomans with a brown slipcover, which unfolds to three cushions on a black, steel frame. Velcro straps secure the cushions to the frame when in the unfolded sleep position. A tag with the manufacturer’s registration number VA18265(CN) is attached to one of the three cushions.
Manufactured in China, the recalled ottomans were sold for about $170 by LTD Commodities, ABC Distributing and The Lakeside Collection both online and through catalogs between June and October 2011.
If you own one of these ottomans, you should stop using it immediately and contact LTD Commodities for instructions on how to get a refund. LTD Commodities is directly notifying known purchasers about the recall.
