Florida, Titusville, Parrish Medical Center, 2 killed, The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. to Parrish Medical Center.

According to Titusville police, an elderly patient and a hospital employee about 40 years were shot dead in the room on the third floor of the patient. Their names have not been released.

Police said a male suspect was detained for questioning, but his name has not been released.

One reason for the shooting is not yet known, but authorities said the attacker acted alone.

“It seems very random,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey Brevard County before adding that the investigation is in the preliminary stages.

Police Chief John Lau Titusville attributed to two hospital security guards to respond quickly to apprehend the gunman, saying their actions saved lives.
