Florida Snow

Florida SnowFlorida Snow,Scattered light snow flurries are being reported across Central Florida this morning, according to the National Weather Service Office in Melbourne.

Weather spotters across the region report rain mixing with light sleet and snow flurries from Melbourne west to Kenansville and north across Volusia , Seminole, Orange and Lake counties. That weather pattern will continue through the morning, forecasters said.

They warn the precipitation will create dangerous icy conditions on roads.

The last time it snowed in Volusia County was Jan. 3, 2008, according to the weather service. Brief snow flurries also were reported Jan. 24, 2003.

Measurable amounts of snow fell on Dec. 23, 1989.
