Find A Grave, (AFP) – An American veteran of the Vietnam War has identified a mass grave containing the remains of 81 communist soldiers in Vietnam, the military said Wednesday. The veteran former enemies fax a map showing the location of the landfill in the province of Kon Tum Central Highlands, a soldier in service to the province of SA Thay district military command told AFP. “The mass grave was composed of 81 agencies. Seventy-seven of them will be identified and later buried in the local cemetery for the martyrs of war. The other four have been identified and handed over to families, “said the soldier, who could not provide details.

The graves of the war, which ended in 1975 with the reunification of Vietnam, are regularly discovered in Vietnam. Hanoi says about 300,000 soldiers who fought for what was then North Vietnam are still missing. VOVNews, the online journal of the state radio quoted an official as saying the tomb mountain was very difficult to access. Fighting in the area between March and June 1968 left 400 soldiers dead Communist, said VOVNews.

The United States says 1,305 of its personnel are still missing in Vietnam after years of war, which killed at least three million Vietnamese and 58,000 Americans. The United States and Vietnam, which restored diplomatic relations 16 years ago, recently signed a $ 1-M, the two-year agreement under which the United States will provide technical assistance to help Vietnam recover soldiers, who are missing, the U.S. Ambassador Michael Michalak said.
