FDA Plans To Oversee Mobile Medical Apps, The Food and Drug Administration wants to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medical applications for mobile devices. That’s why the FDA is expected to assess some of the thousands of mobile health-related applications to ensure that works as well as non-mobile devices for tasks such as monitoring the heart rate of a person or viewing-ray X.
FDA officials say their concern is that the more complex mobile medical applications could be harmful if not done correctly.
One concern is that the smaller screens and lower contrast ratios on mobile devices like smart phones could affect the quality of medical imaging.
