Fascinators, Hats off to Kate Middleton. The new Duchess of Cambridge has created a trend called hat accessories headgear; say industry observers and entrepreneurs who specialize in the niche.
Meanwhile, a recent search hits on, a craft market, generating more than 25,000 results. The wigs are in high demand in hats in the belfry, a retailer in Annapolis, Maryland-based since 1978 with five locations and online store. During the first quarter, it sold 60 of the hits above 20 during the same period in 2010, says James Sackor, general manager of electronic commerce. The accessories range in price from 38 and 300.

“It is thanks to her,” says Mr. Sackor, crediting Ms. Middleton for increased sales. “Seeing her in that hat only adds a new element to the fashion that people might not sure about before. Now you can see it becoming more common.”

To make sure consumers, Ms Middleton has been spending money on a number of other articles as well, t-shirts and mugs with fruitcake, your choice of wedding cake. (Please see related article, “selling fruit cakes as well, Er, Hot Cakes.”) Your wedding dress is also expected to inspire imitators.
