Fake Tweet Trayvon Martin, A tweet, allegedly from Will Smith, contrasting the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin with the flour bombing of Kim Kardashian, went viral on Twitter Tuesday before it was proven to be fake. “WE live in America where a girl that threw flour on Kim Kardashian was arrested on site.
But the man who KILLED Trayvon Martin is still free,” the tweet from @ReaIWiIISmith read, referring to George Zimmerman. A screenshot, along with the tweet, went viral on Tuesday, and was even retweeted by celebrities such as Spike Lee and Rosie O’Donnell, according to Radar.
Problem is: Will Smith does not have an account on Twitter. The bogus account poses as being the official Twitter account for the former Fresh Prince, including a photo of Smith, replacing the “L’s” in his name with “I’s.”
And this is not the first tweet from a fake celebrity account regarding the Trayvon Martin case, which has garner an immense amount of media attention recently.
On Saturday, a fake tweet from the bogus Twitter account of actor Will Ferrell, @RealFerrellWill, was posted, and retweeted by celebrities like Aziz Ansari.
