Fairchild C 123, A cargo plane crashed in Denali Park in Alaska, which caused a forest fire in the area. Federal investigators now headed to the scene of plane crash and have identified it as a Fairchild C-123 recorded the entire West Freight Inc. of Delta Junction, Alaska.
According to information disseminated by the agency, the three people on board died in the crash of Alaska. Their identities have not been published yet. National Transportation Safety Board investigators are expected to arrive today.
The plane crashed about 3 pm and crashed into the south-facing slope of Mount Healy. At impact the aircraft caught fire and caused a forest fire in the area. The fire was contained quickly safely in an acre.
Park spokeswoman Kris Fister said investigators had difficulty in determining the number of fatalities on the Fairchild C-123 crash because “the plane practically disintegrated.”
Investigations are underway, stay “tuned” for updates.
