“We talked briefly,” Chizik said, “and my words were simply this:” You’re Barrett Trotter Do not try to be someone else need not try to be Cam Newton, not have to try to be [former Tigers] Chris Todd or Jason Campbell. It has to be Barrett Trotter. ”

Second-ranked Alabama hosts Kent State today. Kent State is the alma mater of Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.
