ESPN Bracketology 2012

March 12, 2012 by staff

ESPN Bracketology 2012, Selection Sunday officially tips off on CBS this evening at 3 p.m. (PT), which means college hoops fans across the country only need to wait for a few hours before they learn whether or not their favorite college basketball team will be participating in all the madness that March has to offer. There are fans out there that are lucky enough to know with a certainty if their favorite team will make it or not, but there are a lot of bubble team fans as well.

It would appear that UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans fans can skip Selection Sunday as neither team is likely to make it in, but the Long Beach State 49ers are currently predicted by ESPN’s Joe Lunardi to be a No. 11 seed.

The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 19-14 record (11-7 Pac-12) and were knocked out of the conference tournament in the quarterfinals by the Arizona Wildcats. They currently have an RPI of 125. The Trojans finished with a record of 6-26 record (1-17 Pac-12) and were knocked out of the tournament in the first round by UCLA. They have an RPI of 270.
