Entire Apple China

Entire Apple ChinaEntire Apple China, Chinese smugglers have been making cheap imitations of Apple products for years, but now the thieves have raised their game. Instead of trying to sell fake iPhones iPads and the back of a white van in China, all fake Apple stores are starting to appear across the country.

A U.S. couple that lives in Kunming just stumbled upon one after returning from a trip two months. The place is so realistic that at first bet as to whether it could actually be the genuine article.

The first problem is that Kunming is a city remotely unusual, hundreds of miles of the only genuine Apple stores in China over Beijing and Shanghai. Then they realized that the sign said “Apple Store” instead of having only an Apple logo. Inside, the store had the usual blue shirt using “geniuses,” and there was a sort of low-rent version of the Apple Store style and design. Even when questioned by the staff, everyone seemed to really believe they were actually working for Apple.

Best of all, when they went a bit around town, they discovered two “Apple Stores” a few blocks from the first. Well, one was actually an “Apple Stoer” as seen in the photos.

One thing that is unclear is whether the products they sell are genuine things that just happened to fall off the back of a car from Apple, or perhaps are also imitations. So, how long before Steve Jobs sends heavyweights around to deal with this?
