Elvis Birthday, Edison Pen~a, one of the 33 miners who survived 69 days trapped underground at a mine in northern Chile, will attend next Saturday in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), to commemorate the birth of his idol, the “king of rock’n'roll, Elvis Presley, reported the Commercial Appeal newspaper.

“The first song he heard Elvis Pen~a when he was in high school was ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and that was the beginning of a lasting devotion that will bring it to Graceland the next week,” said the newspaper in Memphis.

During that visit, Pen~a, 34, also attended the TV show David Letterman where, although not speak English, sang “Suspicious Minds” in English.

“If one likes something it is not difficult to learn,” Pena said this week in a telephone interview from Chile with journalists from Memphis.

The organized trip includes a visit to Graceland and Tupelo to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Pena will see the production “Viva Elvis” by Cirque du Soleil.

The Commercial Appeal reported on January 8, when his 76th birthday of Elvis Presley, Rock cut a huge cake in the garden in front of Graceland.

After the visit to Graceland, Pen~a concur to a basketball team practice the Memphis Grizzlies, where players talk to Marc Gasol, Spain, and Greivis Vasquez of Venezuela.

The Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and Sunday invite Saturday to the concert “Elvis Birthday Pops”, plus the pink Cadillac arrived in Tupelo, Pena will receive the keys to the city and visit the Tupelo Hardware, where Elvis bought his first guitar.
