Elisabeth Shue Joins ‘CSI’, Hollywood actress Elisabeth Shue has joined the cast of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CBS said Friday.

Shue’s character is to be introduced in the episode scheduled to air Feb. 15. The actress will play an investigator “fresh off an anger-management course, amid rumors that D.B. Russell [played by Ted Danson] fired her when she worked for him in Seattle,” the network said in a synopsis.

“While it’s difficult to say goodbye to a beloved character like Catherine Willows [played by Marg Helgenberger], it’s exciting to start a journey with a new CSI, especially when that character is played by Elisabeth Shue,” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn said in a statement. “The new CSI also struggles with ‘brutal honesty issues’ and suffers no fools.”
