Election Results MichiganElection Results Michigan, State Sen. Hansen Clarke defeated Democratic Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick of Michigan yesterday in the results of the primaries in Michigan for a total of 47% – 41%. The result ending the family dynasty Kilpatrick, Carolyn Cheeks and lose the chance of a re-election.
“Baggage is we’re getting rid of the old political culture in Detroit, which is on the political right to the benefits of the office instead of being committed to serving the people,” said Clarke “followed a political culture that had damage to Detroit for decades ”

Hansen Clarke, 53, clearly referring to the scandals earlier in the Kilpatrick family, who were a respected political family in Detroit. We first have to Kwame Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit and the son of Carolyn Cheeks who was jailed for violating her probation and faces federal corruption charges. And then there’s ex-husband Bernard Cheeks Kilpatrick ho also is being investigated for corruption. With these results the face of Detroit will shift policy.
