Ed Reed S Brother, (AP) – Ravens Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed was “ready to go” before the playoff game in Baltimore against the Chiefs, despite the disappearance of his brother. Ravens spokesman Patrick Gleason, said Reed was at the Sunday breakfast with the team and was ready to play the game in AFC wild card against Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Ed has been at the team meeting and is ready to go,” said Gleason. “It was like the old Ed Reed himself.”

Family members believe brother Reed, Brian Reed, is the man who jumped into the Mississippi River; it ran from police Friday in Louisiana.

Karen Reed said investigators found shoes with his son 28 years and vest. She is the mother of Ed and Brian Reed.

Karen Reed also said the car the man ran from belonged to another brother.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange Bureau St. Charles Parish sheriff said authorities were unable to identify the man who jumped into the river about 10 pm Friday when a deputy told him to put his hands behind his back.

LaGrange said the deputy spotted the car parked with a man who matched the description of a stolen vehicle.

Authorities have called off the search for the missing man.

Ed Reed 54 interceptions lead the NFL since he entered the league in 2002. Despite missing the first six games this season after hip surgery during the offseason, he had a better NFL eight interceptions in just 10 games.

Reed is the only player in NFL history to have scored touchdowns off a punt return, blocked punt, interception and recovered a fumble.
