Earth Hour 2012

March 30, 2012 by staff

Earth Hour 2012, The United Nations in Lebanon will mark Earth Hour 2012 Saturday by switching off lights and electronic devices for an hour in U.N. premises, the international organization said in a statement Friday.

The move is a show of commitment to the U.N.’s “Sustainable Energy for All” initiative. Promoted by the global conservation organization World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour is marked every year on the last Saturday of March when people and organizations are asked to turn off their lights for one hour between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm Beirut time, in whatever time zone they may be located.
