Duke City Marathon

Duke City MarathonDuke City Marathon, Downtown Albuquerque was taken by more than 5,000 runners who participated in the 28 th Annual Duke City Marathon on Sunday.

“Just the atmosphere, I love New Mexico, New Mexico, people are very supportive all the way back around the world everything is like going to spend a good job,” said Michael Hart.

Hart won the overall marathon with a time of 2 hours and 29 minutes.

The event is for runners of all levels, there is also a half marathon, 10k and 5k races.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 anchor Nicole Brady completed the half marathon in 1 hour and 52 minutes.

Although figures are not official, organizers estimated more than 5,000 runners participated, the eighth consecutive year attendance has increased.

Proceeds from the marathon benefit the City of Duke of New Mexico Cancer Center.
