Drive Through Robbery Pa, A man on parole for robbing a bank was arrested again on robbery charges, Kenner police said. Robert Chambliss, 33, was arrested on first-degree robbery charges after an incident at the Sleep Inn Hotel at 2830 Loyola Drive.

Police said Chambliss entered the Sleep Inn on Dec. 7 and asked about renting a room. After giving his personal information to the desk clerk, police said Chambliss jumped the counter and put – what appeared to be a gun — to the clerk’s head and demanded money.

Chambliss grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and left, leaving behind his identification card at the hotel, according to police.

After Kenner Police notified the Jefferson Parish Eastbank Probation and Parole of the robbery, Chambliss was found and surrendered at the parole office on Dec. 8, police said.

Investigators said Chambliss admitted that he committed the robbery, but denied possessing a gun.

Chambliss told police he placed his cellphone to the clerk’s head, implying it was a gun.
