Dr. Werner Spitz, Shortly after Casey Anthony murder trial resumed on Saturday morning, Judge Belvin Perry warned Jose Baez and the lawyers for both sides that he was displeased with what he believes is “play.”
William Rodriguez, who is co-founder of the so-called “Body Farm”, took the stand first. The State objected to his testimony and asked to be allowed on voir dire Rodriguez gave opinions that they claimed violated a court order.
After the jury was asked to leave the room, Rodriguez told the judge he planned to testify that no conclusions can be drawn from the film stays close to Caylee Anthony is because the bones had been scattered animals.
Baez questioned Perry about an order prohibiting witnesses to testify about evidence or opinions that were not released by the court.
“What we’re basically saying, sir, is that you can pick and choose which court orders him to deliver,” said Perry.
Perry said he believed the defenses omissions were not accidental.
“Both sides have engaged in what I call” game. “This is not a game,” Perry said. “I would not be in the position I am now.”
“Mr. Baez, this is not my first rodeo.”
Perry said that the retention of views Rodriguez court and the prosecution would be an offense punishable by contempt.
“I would ask the court to also see the response submitted by the defense in which clearly established that Dr. Rodriguez would be called to rebut questions raised by the prosecution,” said Baez. “This falls into that category.”
“Mr. Baez, this is not my first rodeo,” said Perry.
After a ten-minute recess, defense attorney Cheney Mason Perry said that Rodriguez would return to the position Monday.
Dr. Werner Spitz, who won an award forensic pathologist who was consulted on the Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy assassination, testified about the autopsy Caylee officer and what he brings.
Spitz challenged the results of the medical examiner’s autopsy found Orange County, Dr. Jan Garavaglia.
Dr. G said that Caylee’s death was the result of a homicide, but the manner of her death was undetermined.
Defense attorneys said during opening statements that Caylee’s death was not murder but an accidental death. They also said Casey’s father, George Anthony, was aware of the drowned.
George Anthony rejected the defense claim and said that Caylee did not drown in the family pool.
Spitz refuted the State that the tape covering part of the face of Caylee at the time of her death. He said he believes the tape was placed in the 2 years of age, after her decomposed body, to keep your jaw attached to her skull.
Spitz said that in his view, the skull Caylee have been opened for consideration during the initial autopsy. Garavaglia criticized for what he called a “poor quality” autopsy.
“In order not to head, I think, is a failure. Is a failure of the autopsy,” said Spitz.
Spitz also said he asked to be present during the initial autopsy Garavaglia, but was denied. An autopsy was conducted separately in a funeral home.
Casey Anthony is being tried for murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.
