Donald Lapre Indicted, A grand jury indicted a television pitchman based in Phoenix accused of running a national plan to sell essentially worthless Internet-based companies with more than 200,000 people.
Federal prosecutors say Donald Lapre is accused of 41 counts of conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering promotion. He is accused of overseeing and promoting opportunity through his company called “The Greatest Vitamin in the world.”
During the course of the program, the government says at least 220,000 victims were defrauded and almost 52 million.
Lapre was often seen on television giving his bad luck life story and how he was able to change your life. It refers to itself in its website as “the king of infomercials.” Lapre has not responded to an email seeking comment.
