Dolly Parton, Rebecca Dolly Parton (born January 19, 1946 [1]) is an American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and philanthropist, best known for her work in country music.

In the four and a half decades since her debut national chart, it remains one of the most successful artists in the history of women kind of country that has earned him the title “The Queen of Country Music” [2] with twenty-five number one singles, [3] and a record of forty-one top-10 country albums. Parton began performing as a child, singing on radio and television stations in the region of East Tennessee. From the age of nine she had appeared in the Walker Case Show on the radio and WIVK WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. At thirteen, she was recording on a small label in Louisiana, the band Golden Records, and appeared at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. It was at the Opry, where she met Johnny Cash who encouraged her to go where her heart took her and not care what others thought. [10] The day after graduating from high school in 1964, Parton moved to Nashville taking many traditional elements of folklore and popular music from East Tennessee with her.
