Dolly Parton, Rebecca Dolly Parton (born January 19, 1946 [1]) is an American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and philanthropist, best known for her work in country music.

In the four and a half decades since her debut national chart, it remains one of the most successful artists in the history of women kind of country that has earned him the title “The Queen of Country Music” [2] with twenty-five number one singles, [3] and a record of forty-one top-10 country albums. [4] She has the distinction of having made a top five country hit in each of the last five decades [5] and is tied with Reba McEntire as the only country artist with No. 1 singles in four consecutive decades [6].

She is known for her distinctive soprano, [7] sometimes-bawdy humor, flamboyant dress sense and voluptuous figure.

Parton began performing as a child, singing on radio and television stations in the region of East Tennessee. From the age of nine she had appeared in the Walker Case Show on the radio and WIVK WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. At thirteen, she was recording on a small label in Louisiana, the band Golden Records, and appeared at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. It was at the Opry, where she met Johnny Cash who encouraged her to go where her heart took her and not care what others thought. [10] The day after graduating from high school in 1964, Parton moved to Nashville taking many traditional elements of folklore and popular music from East Tennessee with her.

“Dolly Parton,”who turns 65 on Wednesday, said that while it may look like a woman, she thinks like a man.

The country singer, who has energized the song “9 to 5″ and was opened on the plastic surgery done on her breasts, lips and eyes, also said she has throughout the years learned to deal with attention men.

“I never took offense at some things,” Parton told the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. . “I realized early on that I was a girl and I liked it and I had six brothers, so I knew how the men were acting – they are naturally warm, while women want to be selective but they get angry if people don ‘t find them interesting. ”

“I just learned how to deal with men in an intelligent and clever,” said Parton, who has 11 brothers and sisters in total. “I never slept with anyone, I did not sleep with, and if a man gave me attention I took it as a compliment. After all, I put myself out there with all the hair and makeup. But while I like a woman, I feel like a man. “
