Dog Back To Life Buried

December 18, 2011 by staff

Dog Back To Life Buried, The McKinlay family was devastated when their family dog Scamp escaped through a fence and got hit by a car on Dec. 3. But the 8-month-old Yorkshire Terrier Shih Tzu puppy surprised his owners the next morning when he was not only awake, but sitting up.

Reta McKinlay of Yelm, Washington told the Olympian newspaper that she and her husband were sure the dog had been killed in the collision.

“Scamp was bleeding; his eyes were fixed,” McKinlay said in an interview with the paper. “We didn’t feel breath on his chest or on his nose.”

They broke the sad news to their twin 6-year-old grandchildren, then Reta’s husband took Scamp outside, wrapped him in a blanket and placed him under a wheelbarrow so he could be buried the following day, the Associated Press reported.

But when they returned in the morning, Scamp, despite his injuries, had … come back to life? Or rather it had recovered consciousness and was sitting up.

Even though they racked up a total of $3,000 in veterinarian bills, the entire family was ecstatic to see their pet escape with his life.

“We just said miracles happen, and maybe we were wrong and maybe because everyone was sad and praying, maybe God decided to let him live,” McKinlay told the Olympian.

I believe it…when I was around 9 this happened to our family…with a kitten. Only we DID bury it…and it was on our back porch the next morning. It had climbed into the fan of the truck and when the truck was started, my father realized. So he got it out, was limp, stuff coming out of mouth, tongue out, huge gashes but no blood. He buried it not very deep and that night I prayed, as I was devistated, that if there really was a god, that he please bring it back just for me to be able to say good bye. Next morning I hear my mother crying…asking my dad ‘i thought you said it was dead”…i ran out…started crying myself…and sat with it…seeming to be in no pain…as my dad called the vet i said goodbye incase it didnt make it, and the kitten passed away during surgery…the vet claiming it had too many internal injuries, and there was no way it walked all the way up there. True story. Miracles happen!
