Dna Matches Ex Imf ChiefDna Matches Ex Imf Chief, MSNBC reports that the new tests have shown that the DNA of the former leader of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, match the material found on the shirt of a Manhattan hotel maid who says the attack, two people familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press.  Colleen Long reports that two people said the tests were returned yesterday afternoon. They were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity. They said the DNA found in the maid’s shirt that matches a DNA sample from Strauss-Kahn, once a French presidential candidate.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, is accused of attacking a housewife aged 32 in his suite at the hotel and 3,000 per night. He faces charges of attempted rape and sexual abuse. He is scheduled for arraignment on June 6.

While the media in New York are busy building a case against the maid, the authorities are busy building a case against Strauss-Kahn. DNA testing is very difficult to refute, but does not prove that the victim was attacked. However, the fact that their DNA is the alleged victim does not bode well for Strauss-Kahn. The plot is thickening, as it may well be the trial of the century.
