Dirty DancingDirty Dancing, Prepare for the time of your life … again! Lionsgate has announced plans to remake Dirty Dancing, the 1987 film classic starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze late.

Original numbers choreographed landmarks such as director. Variety reports that the new version will include songs from the original – such as chestnuts “(I’ve Had) The time of my life,” “Hungry Eyes” and “She’s like the Wind” – in addition to more traditional songs and 1960 new songs.

Set in the 1960′s, the Dirty Dancing first came at a Catskills resort and followed the arrival at the age of young “Baby” (Grey) who falls for an attractive station dance instructor Johnny (Swayze, who died in 2009) as they work together in a dance routine.

“The opportunity to lead Dirty Dancing is like a homecoming for me,” Ortega said the director (who directed the film High School Musical and Michael Jackson This Is It). “I grew up in the 60′s on the track helped define me as a person and artist.”

Find stars to fill the shoes of Grey and Swayze be difficult, he admitted. “Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the films of Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him.”
