Did The Groundhog See His Shadow 2011, CNN reporter Anderson Cooper was attacked in Cairo, Egypt, Groundhog Day. Cooper was hit 10 times in the head and his crew was also attacked by a pro-Mubarak, who would not be filmed. While people are wondering if Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Groundhog Day all over the world, Anderson Cooper is secured in a more hostile environment in Egypt.

Shortly after demonstrators in Egypt attacked Anderson Cooper, he published a video that explains the events that unfolded. In the video, he said as the crowd surrounded him and his crew knocked on the head and tried to seize the cameras. I suppose the pro-Mubarak does not want to be filmed.

Regarding the whole Groundhog Day 2011 will situation, it seems that Punxsutawney Phil does not see his shadow. That’s good news for everyone who is sick and tired of the cold because no shadow is equal to an early spring!

(AFP) – Defying an epic snowstorm that paralyzed a large swath of the United States, America’s famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow and predicted Wednesday that spring is upon us.

The rodent weather forecast does not see his shadow coming out of hibernation, which according to legend the United States, bodes well for the early arrival of spring weather mild.

The Groundhog Day which falls every year on February 2, crowds gather in the town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to see the club members of the city drawn groundhog groundhog toothy out of his burrow and announce whether winter will drain off, or whether Americans should prepare for colder.

The tradition has been inherited from German immigrants who monitored the animal’s behavior closely to make decisions regarding their fields to be planted.

If the groundhog does not see his shadow, saw the old adage, it leaves its burrow and ends his hibernation, since the arrival of spring is imminent.

Punxsutawney held its first Groundhog Day in the 1800s, according to the site.

The current show has become a major tourist attraction especially after the release of 1993 hit “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray comedy Hollywood.
