Desperate Housewives Ending

“All good things eventually come to an end, and the eighth and final season, the bets of all the inhabitants of Wisteria Lane are at an all time high,” ABC said in a statement Sunday, just before the start of the Network Television Critics Association Summer Session in Beverly Hills.
“Season 8 of ‘Desperate Housewives’ will be released in a form that is accessible even to viewers who may have lapsed in their vision, and all the richer and more rewarding for loyal fans of the series,” press ABC read.
ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee said the network was proud of the work program. “It’s a landmark show, we are so proud of him,” Lee said at the TCA event on Sunday.
“I just wanted to make sure this show, [which] put this network on the map … took his victory lap,” he added.
Cast member Vanessa Williams previously Tweeted news Friday, when reports first surfaced about the cancellation.
“Yes, DH fans. The rumors are true. This is the final season of a referral program,” he wrote at the time. “Very proud to be part of it. Be sure to see the fall come: (”
The full-length drama primetime soap and starring Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross, began airing on the network in October 2004.
Creator Marc Cherry is not producing the next season of “DH”, according to the Associated Press.
“Desperate Housewives” had previously expected to conclude after nine seasons in 2013.
