Depp Gets Rights To The Vault, “The Vault” can only have been released earlier this week, but the steps are already doing to make a feature film. Yesterday Johnny Depp and Graham King announced that they have acquired the rights to the comic science fiction and are making plans to get on the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christi Dembrowski, King Graham and Tim Headington are set to produce. The story follows the deep-sea divers who discover a sarcophagus in the dark depths and accidentally without a terrible force of it.
The graphic novel will be published in three editions, and from now on only the first has been released. It is not known whether each subject could be a movie, make a trilogy, or if a single film is intended to cover all three.
Sam Sarkar, the author of “The Vault”, is Senior Vice President, Infinitum Nihil, Depp’s production company. In the past, Sarkar wrote the graphic novel “Caliber,” which was illustrated by Garrie Gastonny, the same artist for “The Vault”.
This will not be Depp’s first foray into the world of graphic novels turned into films. He appeared in “From Hell”, the free adaptation of Alan Moore book, and is expected to produce and star in the film “Rex Mundi”. King and Depp have worked together in the past “Range.”
