Dennis Hennis Fires Nail Into Heart, Dennis Hennis, 52, of Vineland, said he and his son were working on a neighbor’s roof last week when the safety feature on his nail gun jammed and he tried to clear it, mistakenly aiming it toward his chest when it fired, ABC news reported.

“It felt like someone poking me in the chest, like a tap,” Hennis said in an interview. “There was no pain, actually, but a lot of shock. I couldn’t believe I had just done that.”

According to reports, Hennis held on to an exposed portion of the nail embedded in his chest as he was rushed to an area hospital.

Doctors said he was revived twice from cardiac arrest en route to surgery, where the nail was removed from the right side of his heart.
