“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” her spokeswoman said in a statement to Newsday. “She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”
After TMZ.com reported that paramedics transported Moore, 49, to a Los Angeles hospital Monday night, Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Matt Spence told People magazine, “I can confirm that we received an emergency call at 10:49 p.m. for an unknown illness related to [Moore's] address. We transported at least one patient to a local hospital. The patient was transported at 11:21 p.m.”
A spokeswoman for Moore’s estranged husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, from whom Moore separated in November, did not respond to a request for comment.
Moore is set to cameo as feminist Gloria Steinem in “Lovelace,” the biography of iconic 1970s adult-film star Linda Lovelace. The movie, which stars Amanda Seyfried, is shooting in Los Angeles. Moore also has a development deal with Lifetime Television for three new series including the talk show “The Conversation,” hosted by British TV personality Amanda de Cadenet.
