Delmarva Power OutagesDelmarva Power Outages, Utilities say nearly a million homes and businesses in the mid-Atlantic region have lost electricity due to high winds from Hurricane Irene.

The cuts are distributed early Sunday in northern Virginia, the Delmarva Peninsula and central and southern Maryland.

Baltimore Gas and Electric is reporting about 474,000 customers in the dark. Pepco, which includes Washington and its Maryland suburbs, is reporting 197,000 customers without electricity, including about 32,000 in the District of Columbia.

Delmarva Power is reporting more than 113,000 customers without electricity, including about 53,000 in Delaware.

Choptank Electric Cooperative reported that 11,663 total outages in their area of?? Coverage, emcompasses Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Dominion Power says more than 103,000 customers in Northern Virginia do not have electricity.

Constellation Energy says one of the two reactors at the plant at Calvert Cliffs nuclear power turns off automatically.

The cuts eliminated the traffic lights across the region causing confusion at intersections.
