S. Krishnadevi, 45, who has been selling Deepavali cards of the past 18 years, said that designers always have to come up with new ideas and concepts.
“Many people simply send text messages, e-mail greetings or online, but with new concepts that are still able to attract buyers,” he said.
He said the holographic cards and pop-up usually comes Deepavali Tamil popular actors or related graphics.
“The most popular pop-up card for lovers. Has the Taj Mahal in the front and when opened, the recipient is greeted with a pop-up row of flowers and large letters spelling ‘Love,’” said Krishnadevi.
As holographic cards, buyers can choose from the latest designs that offer snapshots of the latest Tamil movies including seven a.m. Arivu and Velayudham.
“These films are scheduled to be released this Deepavali” he said.
The emerging cost RM 7.50 cards each and holographic cards are sold at 6.50 ringgit.
