Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Meet the new odd couple of Washington: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairman of the Democratic National Committee’s fire, and hero of the tea party and representative political newcomer Allen West. Their long rivalry that became the poster child for partisanship inside-the-Beltway overnight this week after West shot an email angry, widely distributed Wasserman Schultz for criticizing his stance on Medicare for a discussion of spending.
West called her “vile, unprofessional and contemptible” and told her to “shut the heck up.”
Instead of moving away from the controversy, lawmakers who represent neighboring districts in South Florida are using to energize their political bases.
“She’s a rising star in the Democratic Party and is a rising star in the Republican Party,” said Joyce Kaufman, a radio in South Florida talk show host was asked originally to be chief of staff West, but later resigned. “If you are having a fight at least it has with another person who is attracting attention.”
Wasserman Schultz is the equivalent of the popular cheerleader in Washington, a breast cancer survivor with friends on both sides of the aisle. It was not long after the dispute before five congressional Democrats called for West to apologize.
West, a former army officer and legislator GOP freshmen, has made a name for itself with inflammatory statements and the combative rhetoric. During the campaign, spoke of taking his opponent, Democratic incumbent Ron Klein, “behind the woodshed” and gave a “shout”. It’s recently tweeted, “Anyone with an Obama sticker for 2012, which recognizes them as a threat to the gene pool.” They actually live in the heavily Democratic district, Wasserman Schultz on the other side of the line of their own, which is legal.
Western Washington seems less privileged. He was initially rejected by the Congressional Black Caucus, the group overwhelmingly liberal but later said he may ask for a membership. He has a passionate following of both faithful and motorcycle clubs. The latter followed him during the campaign, which offers protection.
In Iraq, while in the army, who fired a gun near the head of a detainee death threats and allow the soldiers beat him, hoping to scare the prisoners to reveal details of a plot against the so-called West and his men. The man was later found to be innocent. West admitted irregularities in a military court, fined and relieved of his command. But supporters see his actions as a true patriot.
His speeches quickly became favorites of YouTube and overthrew Klein of 9 percentage points in a divided district that voted for John Kerry in 2004 and President Barack Obama in 2008. He faces a tough 2012 reelection race.
Now, both are using the flap-mail for support. West spokeswoman Angela Sachitano said late Wednesday it had not apologized to the congressman, saying, “we are waiting for your apology.”
Wasserman Schultz West labeled a liberal attack dog and requested donations in an email announcing the fundraising battle. She appeared in the TV shots of pushing the Democratic agenda, saying it was discussing politics and has a “tirade of nothing.”
“It’s probably good for his re-election base. The supporters of both parties want their representatives to continue with their managers and the commitment and want them to be more aggressive and assertive again,” said Aubrey Jewett, University Center Florida’s science policy professor.
In her speech in the House, Wasserman Schultz said: “The gentleman from Florida, which represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, like me, is in favor of this plan would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries an incredible member since South Florida. ”
For some, the West’s response seemed harsh, but Klein says is typical.
“The kind of goes from the handle. It is not surprising to me because I saw it during the campaign. He gives speeches that were designed to be inflammatory. There was a lot of things during the campaign that were over the words above, large, high rhetoric that I think is part of what drives his national popularity of Fox wants to hear that people love, “Klein said.
Experts say that the rupture started in 2010 when Wasserman Schultz protested outside the campaign headquarters of the West to protest a cyclist who ran magazine opinion columns written by the West. “Wheels on the Road” also contains photos of scantily clad women and sexually explicit columns.
“He thinks it’s okay to objectify and denigrate women. He thinks it is okay to take away our reproductive freedom. He thinks it’s okay with people who refer to women as relief stations by mouth,” said Wasserman Schultz during the rally.
Kaufman said West noted and was “tired of being hit in the chest” for her. After his email, a handful of blogs labeled him a misogynist, too.
West, who has been married for 22 years and has two daughters, told the conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin on Wednesday that such comments about it perpetuates is little that hates politics.
“I am a threat because I am the one out of 21 century plantation and that can not afford to have a strong voice like mine out there ringing and resonating throughout the country,” he said. “Furthermore, they are not accustomed to anyone who says” I will fight you. “
