David Wilkerson, A man identified as a popular Christian author David Wilkerson, 69, of Tyler, was killed yesterday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash occurred just before the bridge over the Neches River and the Anderson County line.
The remains of the U.S. collision 175 left a trail about a quarter mile in length scattered plywood temporarily blocked vehicles from crossing the bridge.

Passenger sedan, identified as Wilkerson’s wife, 70 years of age, Gwendolyn Wilkerson, was taken to ETMC Tyler hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The agents were not sure why the vehicle fell into the path of the truck.
