David Letterman Threats

David Letterman ThreatsDavid Letterman Threats, A few days ago, the comedian David Letterman night, received the threat of violence from a self-proclaimed jihadist. Apparently, the threat was posted on al-Islam Shumuka forum, which is an Internet discussion forum popular with Muslim extremists.

The threat of so-called comedians of the tongue to be cut – “… to cut the tongue of the Jew humble and closed forever?” The user who posted the threat was identified as Umar Al-Basrawi. Letterman, who is not Jewish, decided that security should be snug at the theater in Manhattan where they recorded the “Late Show.”

It seems that the writers of Letterman does not feel like I should be loosened or censor any part of the program material which could lead to more threats against the comedian. Jerry Perzigian, a television writer and producer for a long time, said, “Today’s comic will do anything for a smile. I’m sure you will enjoy it.”

This is not the first time that Muslim extremists have targeted members of the popular media. Just last year, extremists threatened the creators of ‘South Park’ episode that shows a caricature drawing of the Prophet Muhammad. However, Comedy Central took the threats seriously. They forced the show’s creators to censor the episode in light of the threats.

In the case of David Letterman and “Late Show”, there can be no real cause for alarm, since any legitimate jihadist the FBI immediately meets threat with interference. However, Letterman yet decided to take some extra safety precautions on the Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan during recording. Only time will tell whether the threat was a lone wolf isolated or David Letterman’s comedy has been so far too – or at least more than some are comfortable with.
