Dave Niehaus, Dave Niehaus has died. The voice of the Seattle Mariners and the lifeblood of the team, Dave Niehaus died Wednesday at age 75. Niehaus say that was the voice of the Seattle Mariners goes beyond what he did in the broadcast booth, as their involvement with the team returns to the first day the franchise came into existence. Niehaus has been announcing games for the team since 1977 and just finished the 2010 season with Seattle.
The news that Dave Niehaus is dead and hit the baseball fans in the Pacific Northwest very hard, because even the players, manager, and even the owners had come and gone, Niehaus was that firm as a rock that fans could count all the years. Even when the Mariners lost 100 games a season, Niehaus was energetic and excited to be in the booth announcer for each game. It was not an easy task, especially with a franchise that has struggled a bit over the years, but did so with a style that will always be remembered as one of the cornerstones of this franchise.
