Danica Patrick And Capitol Hill, Racing star Danica Patrick today visited Capitol Hill to lobby for COPD, respiratory disease that killed her grandmother and has been a major focus of Patrick’s work in the field of public policy.
“I’m just here to use my platform as I am, and obviously, with my experience with him, to relate to people with a family of COPD – to try and urge them to do something about it,” Patrick told us to “Top Line” ABC today.
“I do not know what the government has to do. But the conclusion is that pure consciousness is going to be enough to do something about this disease and change their stats.”
Patrick joked that she did not “do well in school my review of Constitution”, but said he is gaining a new appreciation of how difficult it is to move things along Washington.
And she said she is excited about focusing exclusively on the NASCAR racing next year.
“We all do better when we are doing something really, really enjoy it and I actually really love driving, especially racing cars,” he said.
“You’re just going to see much more of me, that’s for sure. It will not be running much more. But I think it’s going to take out a little racier next to me. The Indy car is – not very good to hit, but NASCAR is something that is quite useful and is very self out there. ”
“Have you ever driven down the highway and you think to yourself, ‘Man, just want to increase this guy?’ Well, guess what? In stock cars, you can. “
