Dana Perino

Dana Perino, Dana Perino Maria (born May 9, 1972) is an American political commentator for Fox News. She was press secretary to the White House for President George W. Bush’s September 14, 2007 to January 20, 2009. It was the second woman in the White House press. Dee Dee Myers, who served during the Clinton administration, was the first.
Perino was born in Evanston, Wyoming, grew up in Denver, Colorado, and is Italian-American. She attended Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo., and a suburb of Denver. Perino graduated from the University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State University-Pueblo) in 1994 with a degree in mass communication and minors in political science and Spanish.
While studying at university, she was active in forensics (public speaking) team and with KTSC-TV, the PBS affiliate Rocky Mountain campus, where she hosted the Capitol Journal, a summary weekly policy of Colorado, and producer of Standoff, a weekly public affairs. [Citation needed] Perino later obtained a Master in Public Affairs Reporting, University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). During her time at ISU, she has also worked for WCIA, a CBS affiliate, as a daily reporter covering the Capitol Illinois.

Perino then worked in Washington, DC for Rep. Scott McInnis (R-CO) of Colorado as a personal assistant before serving nearly four years as press secretary for Rep. Dan Schaefer (R-CO), which then chaired the House Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power.

In 1997, during a flight to Denver, Perino met her future husband, Peter McMahon. McMahon, born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, is a businessman involved in the marketing and sale of medical products. The couple married eleven months later.

After Rep. Schaefer announced his retirement in 1998, Perino and McMahon went to the United Kingdom. After a year in the United Kingdom, Perino and McMahon returned to the United States and resided in San Diego, California for three years. Meanwhile, Perino worked in the field of high-tech public affairs.

In 2007, Perino appeared on the radio quiz Wait Wait … Do not Tell Me! Known for, with fun, embarrassing guests. Perino said at a self-deprecating, humorous anecdote about how she had to ask her husband about the Cuban Missile Crisis after joining a press conference. News reports treated her comments as a moment of levity, noting that she was born ten years after the event.
Dana Perino, who was secretary of the White House during part of relay Recher in the Bush administration, said those who thought that the work Recher confined exclusively to the establishment Travel and Events “does not understand politics. ”
