Dallas Cowboys Preseason 2011Dallas Cowboys Preseason 2011, There was a Dallas Cowboys trailer on Interstate-35 Wednesday. The training camp in San Antonio is over. However, the Cowboys are only halfway.

Begin two weeks of training camp in Arlington on Saturday. “This is just a transition, the man,” said defensive end Marcus Spears Cowboys. “I do not think any of us in our right mind believes that is the end of camp. No break camp until late August…. So we have to return to Dallas, and we have a lot of work to do.”

The Cowboys are expected to be without five injured starters tonight in his first preseason game against the Denver Broncos at Cowboys Stadium. But still learn something about your computer, ie the amount of work that remains. Here are five stories to follow:

Return Romo Tony Romo and Dez have not played since breaking his left collarbone in a game October 25 against the New York Giants. He missed the last 10 games. Dez Bryant Romo and played only six games together, catching 18 passes Romo Bryant for 211 yards and a touchdown. Bryant was a candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year last season before breaking his right fibula when he returned a kickoff in a game Dec. 5 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Blocking the Cowboys Romo threw right tackle Marc Colombo and right guards Leonard Davis. First round Tyron Smith is replacing Colombo, while veteran Montrae Holland was penciled in as the starter at right guard. However, Holland has been out since Friday with a strained lower back. So the Cowboys moved veteran left guard Kyle Kosier to right guard to provide Smith with a veteran at his side. Rookie David Arkin will start tonight at left guard, while the second year the center Phil Costa will start in place of Andre Gurode, who was recovering from knee surgery off-season.

Kicking competition rookie Dan Bailey has been the best field goal kicker in a duel of kickers, but veteran David Buehler has the advantage on kickoffs. In his first season as the team kicker, Buehler made only 24 of 32 shots and missed two extra points last season. But he has 51 touchbacks in two seasons. While Jerry Jones said the Cowboys could use two kickers this season, as they did in 2009, most likely the work of Buehler or Bailey.

Rob Ryan defense of the Cowboys number 31 in points allowed last season 27.3 points per game. The 436 points surrendered their best in Cowboys history. Players say Wade Phillips defense became “predictable” last season. The new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has nothing, an 80-page booklet. With one starter different – like signing free agent Abe Elam has replaced Alan Ball as free safety – the Cowboys have to take Ryan back to where they were in 2009, when it ranked among the best.

Corner, anyone? The Cowboys offered as a free agent prize Nnamdi Asomugha and 10 million a year. The cornerback signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving the Cowboys hope Mike Jenkins and Terence Newman pick this season. Newman played a rib injury last season when he allowed 58 receptions for 871 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins lost his early confidence, allowing 54 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns. Now both are injured. Jenkins is a stinger. Newman has a groin injury that will keep him at least through the preseason. Orlando Scandrick and Alan Ball will start tonight, but Bryan McCann and rookie Josh Thomas will have his chance to shine.
