Crowd Frees Girl, A five-year-old Chinese girl has narrowly escaped death after being run over by a 4×4 vehicle. CCTV footage of the incident in Wentzhou, Zhejiang Province, showed a Honda CRV reversing at the entrance to a lane. It was about to drive off in another direction when a little girl wrangling with two women passed by.

The child appeared to argue with the older women and sat down in the middle of the road as they walked ahead.

The driver turned, having not seen the girl, and rolled the 1.6-ton vehicle over her.

The car pulled up straightaway and people passing by came to the rescue. They eventually lifted up the 4×4 and released the girl.

She was taken to hospital and was found to have escaped without serious injuries.

Qian, 74, was among the group who helped rescue her and said: “Save the child. That is what we should do first. Everybody should pitch in the work.

Another witness, called Ms Zhou, added: “People should help each other like this.”
